萌芽篇 Sprouting

but break apart for the attachment to the soil.
                                             Do not hesitate
but trample upon all foes harboring evil intentions.

                                           The Fifth Part
                                                Clouds
                                              drift leisurely
                                             over hummock

                                        and through mountainside
to gain an insight into lily.
                                                  Oh,

what a profound one it is!
What a bent one hardly to erect,
                                          suppressed by thorns!
                                           Stubborn branches
break through sharp thistles and thorns.

                                               Fair petals
                                         disclose parting sadness.
                                       Who strangles such an angel

                                      and tears off vigorous wings?
                                            Noiselessly ——
                                      Slow down your steps please.
                                             Fallen leaves,
                                       pause on treetop for moment.

                                          Be temperate please,
                                                winter,
                                         comfort the soft breath.

                                          Coldness buries hope
                                         without any balderdash.

                                                                                    ·77·
