PREFACE

Since the reform and opening up, China’s social and economic development

has been rapid. In order to further expand domestic demand and promote economic
growth, the country has increased investment in infrastructure construction.
Highways are the link to promote social and economic development, and highway
engineering projects have also been carried out in large quantities. Therefore, the

construction management of highway engineering has gradually been improved
and increasingly enhanced. With the further development of society, finding
quality management methods for highway construction that are suitable for the
current situation in China is not only an urgent task, but also related to the long-

term sustainable development of highway engineering management.
This book consists of ten chapters. The first chapter is about the construction
technology management of highway engineering, which introduces the
construction technology of pavement engineering, bridge engineering, and highway

tunnel engineering; Chapter 2 is about the research on highway safety management
issues and prevention and control, introducing the problems and countermeasures
of highway traffic safety management, the practice of highway maintenance
and construction safety management, and the construction safety management

of highway engineering based on BIM technology; Chapter 3 introduces the
quality management of highway maintenance projects, including the maintenance
of roadbeds, pavements, bridges, culverts, and tunnels, quality technology and
control of highway maintenance projects, and prevention of natural disasters on
