Empowerment and agency: Cultural identities empower individuals and commu-
nities by affirming their unique experiences and perspectives. It enables marginalized
groups to assert their cultural rights, challenge stereotypes, and strive for social justice.
Cultural identity can be a source of strength, resilience, and agency in the face of dis-
crimination or oppression.
Cross-cultural understanding: Cultural identities play a vital role in promoting
cross-cultural understanding. By recognizing and respecting diverse cultural identities,

es that shape their cultural identity. Personal growth, exposure to new ideas, education,

reshape their cultural identity. Individuals may choose to incorporate new beliefs, prac-
