PREFACE
Archives, as authentic records of human social activities, carry rich historical
information and are important information resources for social development. From
ancient stone carvings and bamboo slips, to modern paper documents, and now
electronic data, the form of archives continues to evolve with the changing times.
The traditional archive management model mainly relies on manual operation and
physical storage, which has many limitations in terms of information processing
speed, resource utilization efficiency, and archive preservation security. In today’s
environment of information explosion and accelerating social pace, this model
is no longer able to meet the society’s demand for fast, accurate, and extensive
utilization of archival information. Archive informatization construction refers
to the comprehensive application of modern information technology in archive
management activities under the unified planning and organization of the national
archive administrative management department, achieving digital management
and service of archive information resources. This process marks a significant
shift in the archive management model from primarily focusing on physical
storage and utilization to centered around digital storage and efficient services
of information. It covers multiple aspects such as digitalization, networking, and
intelligence of archival information, and is committed to breaking the limitations
of time and space, making archival information easily accessible and utilized by
all sectors of society. With the rapid development and widespread application
of cutting-edge information technologies such as computer technology, network
technology, big data technology, cloud computing technology, and artificial
intelligence technology, archive informatization has ushered in unprecedented
development opportunities. On the one hand, these technologies provide powerful
tools for efficient collection, storage, management, and retrieval of archival
information, greatly improving the efficiency and quality of archival management.
