PREFACE

As the tide of the times rolls forward, rural revitalization has become a
prominent part of the national development blueprint. It concerns whether the vast
rural areas can achieve magnificent transformation in the journey of modernization
and whether millions of farmers can move towards a better life. The development
of rural economy is undoubtedly the core lifeline of the rural revitalization strategy
and a powerful engine for promoting comprehensive rural revitalization.
Once, rural areas struggled on the path of economic development and faced
many difficulties. Weak infrastructure and inconvenient transportation make
it difficult for agricultural products to leave the mountains and enter the large
markets of cities; Single industry, excessive reliance on traditional agricultural
cultivation, weak ability to resist market risks, and slow growth of farmers’
income; There is a serious loss of talent, and young and middle-aged laborers
are leaving to work. Rural areas lack innovative vitality and the backbone of
development. These problems are like mountains that stretch across the path of
rural economic development, hindering the progress of rural prosperity. However,
with the comprehensive implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, the
rural economy has ushered in unprecedented development opportunities. The
strong support of policies has injected a continuous stream of momentum into the
development of rural economy. From increasing investment in rural infrastructure
construction, improving transportation, water conservancy, electricity and other
conditions, to introducing a series of preferential policies to encourage innovative
development of rural industries, from strengthening the supply of public services
such as education, healthcare, and culture in rural areas, to promoting rural land
system reform and activating rural land resources, each policy has made precise
efforts to lay a solid foundation for the development of rural economy.
