differences can help avoid misinterpretations and foster effective cross-cultural commu-
               nication.
In conclusion, communication is the process of creating, transmitting, and receiving
messages through various channels and mediums. It is a fundamental aspect of human
interaction that enables the exchange of information, ideas, and emotions. Effective
communication involves encoding and decoding messages accurately, utilizing verbal,
non-verbal, written, and visual forms of expression. Active engagement, empathy, and
feedback are essential to ensure understanding and mutual respect. Cultural awareness
and contextual sensitivity further enhance effective communication, fostering inclusive
               and meaningful connections.

               2.2 Characteristics of Communication

Communication possesses several key characteristics that influence its effective-
ness and impact. Understanding these characteristics can help individuals and groups
enhance their communication skills and achieve their desired outcomes. Here are some
               fundamental characteristics of communication:

               2.2.1 Communication Is a Two-Way Process

Communication is a two-way process involving both the sender and the receiver. It
requires active participation and engagement from both parties to effectively transmit
and understand information. The sender encodes their thoughts or message, chooses
a medium to transmit it, and delivers it to the receiver. The receiver then decodes the
message, interprets its meaning, and provides feedback or a response. This feedback
loop allows for clarification, understanding, and adjustment of the message, ensuring
               effective communication.
2.2.2 Communication Is both Verbal and Non-Verbal

Communication can be conveyed through both verbal and non-verbal means. Ver-
bal communication involves the use of spoken or written words to transmit messages. It
includes conversations, presentations, speeches, emails, and text messages.
On the other hand, non-verbal communication involves the use of gestures, facial
expressions, body language, tone of voice, eye contact, and other non-verbal cues to
