旷野诗选
             Wilderness Anthology

                                    Being self-conceited

                                            —— Amaziah

Murdering the traitor but not executing his sons,
upright and outspoken fame came with the lenient.
Trampling upon adversary Edomites in relentlessness,

thistle in the south gradually puffed up with achievement.

An easy and cozy life nurtured arrogance and pride,
overestimating strength till falling into a snare.

Brothers in ties fought each other in battlefield,
destroying urgently upon the mutual land though unfair.

Confronting the north cedar in glory of the past victory,

your ears turned to be deaf to go on close-quarter fighting.
Who knows the evaluation of right and wrong within boundary?
The city was broken down with treasuries lost in suffering.

Who could control the ebb and flow in turbulent history?
All of those were recorded in Kings awesomely with allegory.

“They conspired against him in Jerusalem... and killed him there.”
