Chapter 3 Low-carbon and Economical E-commerce

                  Chapter 3 Low-carbon and Economical

                                         E-commerce

With the global climate change problem becoming more and more serious,
low-carbon development has become the common goal of all countries. In this context,
low-carbon e-commerce and forestry carbon sinks, as two important areas of green de-
velopment, are gradually showing their close ties and huge potential.
Low-carbon e-commerce as a new business model aims to promote green consump-
tion and sustainable development through e-commerce platform. It provides consumers
with a more environmentally friendly and healthy shopping experience by optimizing
the supply chain, reducing energy consumption and reducing carbon emissions. The
development of low-carbon e-commerce will not only help reduce environmental pol-
lution, but also promote the construction of a green industrial chain and the green trans-
               formation of the economy.
Forestry carbon sink refers to the process of absorbing and fixing carbon dioxide in
the atmosphere by means of afforestation, forest management and wood utilization, so
as to slow down the climate change. As an important force in ecological construction,
forestry carbon sink is of great significance in maintaining ecological balance and pro-
tecting biodiversity. At the same time, forestry carbon sink also provides a new growth
point for economic development and promotes the prosperity of green industry.
The links between low-carbon e-commerce and forestry carbon sinks are mainly
               reflected in the following aspects:
Common goal of green development: both low-carbon e-commerce and forestry
carbon sinks are committed to promoting green development and jointly addressing
the challenge of climate change. Through their respective ways, they promote resource
conservation, environmental protection and ecological restoration, and jointly build a
green, low-carbon and circular economic development system.
Complementary advantages: low-carbon e-commerce provides a broad market
space for forestry carbon sinks. Through the e-commerce platform, forestry carbon
sequestration projects can be better promoted and popularized, attracting more consum-
ers’ attention and participation. At the same time, forestry carbon sinks also provide
strong support for low-carbon e-commerce. As a natural carbon sink, forest can absorb
and fix a large amount of carbon dioxide, which provides an important guarantee for
the green operation of e-commerce platforms.
