center of the left palm and the heart of the right fist both facing up, and the elbows
protruding, leaving the armpits empty. At the same time, relax the left hip joint, and
stamp the right foot sharply and flatly, almost parallel to and about shoulder-width
apart from the left one, baihui (GV20) gently pulled up. The weight remains more
on the left foot. The eyes look ahead. (Figures 70-6a and 70-6b)

Posture 71 Shou Shi (Closing)
1. Relax the right hip joint, and turn the torso right, with the weight shifting
slightly left. At the same time, the left palm and the right fist, sticking to each other,
travel right in an inward arc in front of the abdomen.
Relax the left hip joint, and turn the torso left, with the weight shifting slightly
right. At the same time, the left palm and the right fist, sticking to each other, travel
left in an outward arc in front of the abdomen.
Relax the right hip joint, and turn the torso right, with the weight shifting to be
evenly distributed across the feet. At the same time, the left palm and the right fist,
sticking to each other, travel right in an inward arc to rest in front of the abdomen,
with the elbows protruding, leaving the armpits open. As the right fist and the left
palm travel in a horizontal circle, the waist also rotates in a horizontal circle in the
same direction.
Without a pause, the right fist opens into a palm. The palms twining slightly
directly pull apart, facing up, with the fingers pointing to each other and the elbows
