[3] Improve the Supply Chain and Certification System for Green Products
To address deficiencies in supply chain management and certification standards for
green products, governments, enterprises, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
need to establish closer collaborative relationships. They should jointly work to create a
unified and efficient certification framework and supply chain management system for green
products. Below are specific improvement strategies:
(1) Develop Unified Standards
Led by government departments, in collaboration with relevant industry experts and
stakeholders, establish a set of nationally and internationally applicable green product certi-
fication standards. These standards should cover the entire product lifecycle - from raw ma-
terial selection, production processes to waste disposal, ensuring each stage complies with
environmental protection and sustainable development principles. Simultaneously, these
standards need regular evaluation and updating to adapt to evolving market demands and
technological advancements.
(2)Strengthen Supply Chain Management
Enterprises should assume social responsibility by proactively establishing robust in-
ternal green supply chain management systems. This includes but is not limited to selecting
suppliers with strong environmental performance, optimizing logistics and distribution meth-
ods to reduce carbon emissions, and implementing strict environmental impact assessments.
Through these measures, products can consistently adhere to high environmental standards
throughout production and circulation processes, enhancing product transparency and credi-
bility.
(3)Introduce Third-Party Supervision Mechanisms
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) can play a vital role in this process by
participating in green product certification as independent third-party entities. They can not
only provide professional auditing services but also offer consumers reliable information
regarding product authenticity. Additionally, NGOs may assist in conducting public
education initiatives to enhance societal awareness and support for green consumption across
all sectors.
(4) Promoting Multi-party Collaboration
To effectively advance the implementation of the aforementioned initiatives, all
stakeholders must strengthen communication and coordination to form synergies. For
instance, governments could encourage more enterprises and NGOs to participate in green
product promotion through policy incentives; industry associations could serve as a bridge
by organizing member units to share best practice cases and jointly resolve encountered
challenges; while research institutions could provide intellectual support for technological
innovation to help develop more advanced and applicable technical solutions.
