Chapter 6 Climate education for the public
cover the entire lifecycle from raw material extraction, production/manufacturing to waste
disposal, with clear specifications for environmental indicators and technical parameters.
By setting definitive criteria, this can effectively prevent “greenwashing” practices (where
companies falsely claim environmental attributes of products) in the market, thereby
maintaining market order.
(2) Establish Green Supply Chain Management System
Enterprises should actively adopt advanced management concepts and technological
means to establish a comprehensive green supply chain management system. This system
should not only focus on the performance of direct suppliers but also extend to second-tier
and even lower-tier suppliers, ensuring every link complies with established environmental
requirements. For example, implementing strict supplier audit systems to regularly assess
partners’ environmental performance; introducing emerging technologies like blockchain to
track product flow paths and enhance information transparency.
(3) Strengthen Third-Party Certification and Supervision Mechanisms
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs), independent laboratories, or professional
certification bodies can play significant roles in the green product certification process.
They can provide objective and impartial evaluation services, offering consumers reliable
reference criteria for selecting genuinely green products. Simultaneously, these third-party
institutions should participate in daily supervision and inspection efforts to promptly identify
and rectify non-compliant behaviors, ensuring the effective operation of the certification
system.
(4) Promote Information Disclosure and Communication Platform Development
Establish a centralized information platform to publish verified green product data and
environmental performance records of related enterprises. This platform will not only serve
as a key resource for consumers to access information but also become a space for businesses
to share best practice cases. Additionally, encourage active participation from all sectors of
society in discussions to foster multi-party interactions and jointly advance the development
of the green industry.
(5) Strengthen Legal and Regulatory Support
Governments should formulate corresponding laws and regulations to impose strict
penalties on enterprises violating green product certification rules and protect the rights of
legitimate businesses. Meanwhile, enterprises actively participating in green transformation
and achieving significant results in energy conservation andemission reductionmay receive
tax incentives or other forms of rewards to incentivize more market entities to engage in
green initiatives.
(6) Enhance Public Awareness and Education
