Chapter 3 Low-carbon and Economical E-commerce
3.1.2 the two carbon targets on the new logistics requirements
April 22 is World Earth Day. It upholds green development and promotes the har-
monious coexistence of man and nature. China has been contributing China’s wisdom
and China’s plan to global environmental and climate governance, which reflects the
responsibility of a responsible power. Since the two-carbon target was proposed in
2021, China’s green consumption transformation has begun to accelerate significantly.
Especially since the beginning of 2022, a series of guiding opinions have been issued,
urging China’s manufacturing industry to develop in a green direction. Among them,
e-commerce as a new engine of China’s trade development has become a “China busi-
ness card”. In the process of promoting green development, the e-commerce indus-
try has also received much attention. The state has put forward requirements for the
e-commerce industry to build a green supply chain, and issued relevant legal policies
such as the “E-commerce Law” and the “Notice on Promoting the Green Development
of E-commerce Enterprises” to guide e-commerce enterprises to improve their green
development capabilities and actively explore the formation of a resource-saving and
environment-friendly enterprise development model.
Green logistics is the process of reducing the impact of logistics on the environment
by making full use of logistics resources and adopting advanced logistics technology
to reasonably plan and implement logistics activities such as transportation, storage,
handling, handling, packaging, distribution processing, distribution and information
processing. The major e-commerce enterprises adhere to the concept of green logistics,
explore the innovation of green logistics, and create the whole process of green logis-
tics. At this stage, most e-commerce enterprises mainly adopt the method of replacing
transportation vehicles and adopting new energy transportation vehicles with lower car-
bon emissions in the process of building green logistics, thus effectively reducing fuel
consumption and further reducing the major carbon emissions in the logistics link.
With the gradual clarity and refinement of the green logistics policy, the national
level has formulated policies and indicators to regulate and supervise the logistics emis-
sions, at the same time promoting green packaging, adjusting the transportation struc-
ture, and promoting the application of intelligent hardware equipment and the wide
application of new energy vehicles to promote the green transformation of the logistics
industry. Logistics enterprises should actively explore and adjust their development
strategies based on their own business characteristics and development direction to
conform to the green transformation of the logistics industry.
