sible while keeping the postures standardized. If the practitioner’s steps is
not fast enough, then the punches will slow down as well. In terms of foot-
work, the Lanshouquan requires that the feet should not only be as stable
as sticking to the ground, but also be able to generate power to the upper
and lower limbs, from the waist through the spine to the shoulders, elbows,

hips and knees. The requirement is “If one part of the body moves, the rest
of the body will follows.” and the three sections—head, trunk and legs—

should be connected as one. Lanshouquan also emphasizes explosive
power, and the natural use of the three methods of “lifting, supporting, and
gathering” in the dantian which is driven by the qi. When practicing Lan-
shouquan forms, one should be fully focused and move naturally, so that
the force of fist can be shown like a tide, with a threatening momentum
and full of combat atmosphere. That’s show Lanshouquan have the style of
“practicing with rival, but combat unrivalled”.
拦手拳对功架的要求是规中求速。步不快则拳慢。拦手拳在步法上
要求既要像粘在地上一样稳固,不拔跟,又能发力给上下肢,从腰通脊
达背传于肩肘髋膝,劲力顺达;要求“一动无不动”,三节要贯通;要
突出爆发力,由气来催动丹田“提、托、聚”三法的自然运用。拦手拳
套路在练习时要全神贯注,大气自然,拳势才能跌宕如潮,气势逼人,
充满战斗意境,有“练时有敌,战时无敌”的大家风范。
