Tongbiquan, also known as Tongbeiquan,
is a martial art posture. It is said that Tongbiquan
was created by Han Tong, a person from the Song
Dynasty who created the skills by imitating move-
ments of white apes. There are also variations of
Tongbiquan such as Sashou Tongbi, Erlang Tong-
bi, Wuxing Tongbi, and Heye Tongbi.
通臂拳,亦有称通背拳者。通臂门派,据传
为宋人韩通采白猿之技,创白猿通臂拳。更有撒
手通臂、二郎通臂、五行通臂、荷叶通臂等。
Cangzhou Tongbiquan was originated from
Heyi Tongbiquan in Duliu Jinghai (now a district
of Tianjin), and it is also known as the “Tongbiquan
24 Postures”. The term “Heyi” means the unity of
heaven and human nature, which refers to the syn-
chronization of thought and skills, the integration
and mastery of movements, where the mind con-
trols the body and the body moves effortlessly.
沧州通臂拳源于静海(现天津市辖区)独流的
合一通臂拳,亦称通臂拳二十四式。合一者,天人
合一,即意念与技艺统一相合,融会贯通,意动身
动,身不动而自动也。
