The origin of Tongbiquan

                      通臂拳源流




                      Tongbiquan, also known as Tongbeiquan, is a martial art posture. It
                 is said that Tongbiquan was created by Han Tong, a person from the Song

                 Dynasty who created the skills by imitating movements of white apes.
                 There are also variations of Tongbiquan such as Sashou Tongbi, Erlang

                 Tongbi, Wuxing Tongbi, and Heye Tongbi.
                     通臂拳,亦有称通背拳者。通臂门派,据传为宋人韩通采白猿之

                 技,创白猿通臂拳。更有撒手通臂、二郎通臂、五行通臂、荷叶通臂
                 等。

                      Cangzhou Tongbiquan was originated from Heyi Tongbiquan in

                 Duliu Jinghai (now a district of Tianjin), and it is also known as the “Tong-
                 biquan 24 Postures”. The term “Heyi” means the unity of heaven and hu-

                 man nature, which refers to the synchronization of thought and skills, the
                 integration and mastery of movements, where the mind controls the body
                 and the body moves effortlessly. According to the senior masters of the    CHapter One Introduction

                 Heyi Tongbiquan, in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, a monk
                 traveled to Duliu, Jinghai, and passed on the Tongbeiquan method to Lv
