ence with stormwater discharge and improving drainage efficiency. Meanwhile, urban plan-
ning should incorporate rainwater collection and utilization facilities such as constructing
rainwater storage tanks and green roofs. Rainwater storage tanks can collect and store rain-
water for non-potable uses like urban greening irrigation and road cleaning, achieving water
resource recycling. Green roofs reduce stormwater runoff through vegetation layer retention
and absorption, alleviating urban drainage pressure.
(3) Knowledge Update and Learning: Injecting Development Momentum
Knowledge updating and learning serve as vital driving forces for the continuous devel-
opment of improvement mechanisms. The field of climate change research remains highly
active, with new discoveries and achievements constantly emerging. Regarding new climate
change trends, scientists’ in-depth analysis of long-term meteorological data reveals signifi-
cant changes in precipitation patterns in certain regions, including not only alterations in total
precipitation but also increased seasonal distribution imbalances. This finding prompts rele-
vant departments to re-examine and adjust water resource management strategies, preparing
in advance for the risks of water scarcity or flood disasters caused by precipitation changes.
In terms of new impact research, as investigations deepen,it has been discovered that climate
change’s impact on biodiversity is more complex than previously understood. Beyond direct
climatic effects on species survival, it indirectly affects biodiversity by altering ecological re-
lationships between species, such as food chains and symbiotic relationships. Consequently,
the ecological conservation field places greater emphasis on maintaining ecosystem integrity
and interspecies ecological connections when formulating protection strategies.
In terms of adaptation technologies and management concepts, continuous innovative
developments are being made. Regarding adaptation technologies, novel carbon capture
and storage (CCS) technology has gradually matured. This technology captures CO2 from
industrial emissions and securely stores it in deep underground geological formations, effec-
tively reducing greenhouse gas emissions and alleviating climate change pressures. In man-
agement philosophy, there is a shift transitioning from traditional single-sector management
to multi-sector collaborative governance. For instance, when addressing urban heat island
effects, multiple departments including urban planning authorities, environmental protec-
tion agencies, and energy departments collaborate through comprehensive measures such as
optimizing urban layouts, increasing urban green spaces, and promoting clean energy appli-
cations to collectively mitigate urban heat island intensity. Relevant departments, research
institutions, and practitioners need to continuously monitor these new developments through
various channels. Participation in international academic conferences facilitates exchanges
with global leading climate change research experts to stay updated on the latest research
trends; organizing internal training programs invites experts to provide in-depth explanations
and training on new adaptation technologies and management concepts; conducting collabo-
rative research projects with other institutions enables the transformation of new knowledge
into practical applications.
