dents’ mobility and even potentially causing property damage.
The public can provide these firsthand experiences to relevant authorities through diver-
sified channels. Community feedback channels, such as dedicated suggestion boxes estab-
lished by neighborhood committees and regular community forums, offer residents face-to-
face platforms to voice opinions. Residents can elaborate in detail on climate change-related
issues encountered in daily life, as well as share perspectives and suggestions regarding ex-
isting adaptation measures. Online questionnaires, leveraging their convenience and scalabil-
ity, can reach broader populations. Through scientifically designed questionnaires, compre-
hensive feedback is collected on urban greening effectiveness, drainage system performance,
energy supply stability, and other aspects. This firsthand data from the public provides gov-
ernments and institutions with authentic, multidimensional perspectives to evaluate the prac-
tical effectiveness of current adaptation measures—such as the efficacy of urban greening in
mitigating heat island effects, or drainage systems’ capacity to handle extreme precipitation
events. Based on these insights, governments and agencies can pinpoint deficiencies in exist-
ing adaptation measures, thereby clarifying directions for subsequent adjustments.
Public daily behavior choices also exert direct and profound impacts on the effective-
ness of adaptation measure implementation. In the field of energy conservation and emission
reduction, the public activelypracticesgreen travel concepts by voluntarily choosing walk-
ing, cycling, or public transportation as travel modes, which can significantly reduce carbon
emissions from private vehicles. Taking urban transportation as an example, if a large num-
ber of residents opt for public transit, this can not only reduce road congestion levels and im-
prove traffic operational efficiency, but also substantially decrease vehicle exhaust emissions,
enhance urban air quality, thereby effectively reducing energy consumption and greenhouse
gas emissions in urban transportation, and greatly strengthening cities’ climate change resil-
ience. At the household level, the public achieves effective energy conservation in daily life
through adopting energy-efficient appliances and properly setting air conditioning tempera-
tures. This not only helps alleviate energy supply pressures and reduce household energy
expenditures, but also complements the implementation of adaptation measures in the energy
sector, such as promoting energy structure optimization and facilitating renewable energy
integration.
Moreover, public participation can create an extensive and positive social discourse at-
mosphere, effectively driving the adjustment and refinement of adaptation measures. When
widespread public attention focuses on specific climate change issues, such as aggravated air
pollution from waste incineration, citizens express their demands through various channels
including social media and public awareness campaigns. With its rapid dissemination speed
and broad reach, social media platforms enable the public to quickly share relevant infor-
mation online, sparking extensive discussions and heightened attention. Public awareness
campaigns further amplify impact through offline methods like on-site promotions and pub-
lic lectures, enhancing societal understanding of these issues. This broad social engagement
