palms pull, the back remains straight, with baihui (GV20) gently pulled up. The eyes

9. Relax the right hip joint, and turn the torso further right. At the same time,
the left palm twining reversely and the right one directly sink their bases.
Without a pause, relax the left hip joint, and turn the torso left. The crotch
moves forward in a shallow concave curve to shift the weight left (forward) into a
left-weighted, front bow-stance, the right foot turning in on the ball. At the same
time, the left palm twining further reversely sinks down and forward to end in front
of the abdomen, facing down, with the fingers pointing right and back, the left elbow
protruding, aligning with the left knee; and the right palm twining further directly de-
scends to end above the right knee, facing right and forward, with the fingers erecting
and wrist sitting, pointing up to the right rear. The eyes look left and forward. (Figure
2-9)

10. Relax the left hip joint, and turn the torso slightly left. At the same time,
the left palm twining directly rotates out, facing down, with the fingers pointing
forward; and the right one twining directly rotates in, facing down to the left front,
with the fingers pointing down to the right rear.
Without a pause, relax the left hip joint, and turn the torso further left. At the
same time, the right foot twining reversely arcs in, right and forward to the right
front of the left foot in an empty stance, with the heel raised. The left palm twining
slightly reversely strikes up and forward, facing down; and the right one twining
further directly strikes down and forward, facing up. The weight is more on the left
(hind) leg, with mingmen (GV4) slightly expanded. (Figure 2-10)
