with the left foot touching the ground solidly, the toes pointing west, a left-weight-
ed, front bow-stance formed. At the same time, sink the left buttock and turn the
right one, with the torso turning left. The left palm twining further reversely arcs
down, in and left to end outside the left hip, facing down, the fingers pointing for-
ward; and the right one twining further directly thrusts up and forward, facing up,
the fingers pointing forward. (Figure 27-2)
Note: Movement 1 is restoring energy, where the heel lands on the ground,
and right palm overtops the left one. Movement 2 is releasing energy.
Posture 28 Bai She Tu Xin (Snake Flicks Tongue) [II]
1. Relax the left hip joint, and turn the torso slightly left. At the same time, the
palms, remaining in their positions, twine reversely to push out, with the right one fac-
ing out, the fingers of the right hand pointing left and up, and the left one facing down
to the left front, the fingers of the left hand pointing right and forward. (Figure 28-1)

2. The weight shifts onto the right leg. The left knee twining reversely rises
and closes in, the left foot hanging down. With the right shoulder joint pivoting, the
right palm twining directly arcs down and in to form a “grasp” in front of the abdo-
men, facing up, the little finger gently touching the abdomen, hukou facing left and
forward, the right elbow protruding, leaving the armpit open. With the left shoulder
joint pivoting, the left palm twining first directly and then reversely arcs up and for-
ward to pat down, facing down and forward, level with the shoulder, the left elbow
aligning with the left knee. The eyes look forward (west). (Figure 28-2)
3. The left foot steps left and forward (southwest), with the heel landing on
