IV. Postures of Chen Taijiquan Routine II (Cannon Fist)

                      4. The palms twining reversely rotate in to end below the ears, facing each
other, with the fingers pointing up and back. The right elbow ends slightly above
the right shoulder, and the left one slightly below the left shoulder. At the same
time, with the toes turned up and in, the right foot twining reversely takes a step
right and back (east by south) on the inside heel at a 15-degree angle, the weight
sinking. The eyes look right and forward. (Figure 24-4)

                      5. Relax the right hip joint, and turn the torso right, with the weight shifting
into a right-weighted, front bow-stance. At the same time, the palms twining re-
versely push right and forward in a concave curve, facing right, the right elbow
aligning with the right knee. The arms each form an arc with peng energy, the right
hukou corresponding with the left. The eyes look right. (Figure 24-5)
Note: Repeat Movements 5-9 in Posture 23.
Posture 25 Lian Huan Pao (Chain Cannon Punches) [III]

                      1. The palms twining slightly directly push up to the right front in a con-
vex curve (the wrists leading). At the same time, the left foot twining reversely
slide-steps half a foot backward and left on the inside heel, the weight sinking,
mingmen (GV4) expanded. The back remains straight, with baihui (GV20) gently
                 pulled up. (Figure 25-1)
                      2. Relax the left hip joint, and turn the torso left, with the weight shifting left.
At the same time, with the heel pivoting, the left foot turns out on the ball, the toes
pointing north; and the left foot touches the ground solidly, a left-weighted, side
bow-stance formed. The palms twine first reversely to sink their bases, and then
directly to pull left and up in a convex curve, the left one grasping up to the left
