③ Organic Farm: Tsinghua University has established an organic farm on campus to
grow vegetables and fruits. These agricultural products not only supply campus cafeterias
but also reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides through organic farming meth-
ods, thereby minimizing environmental pollution.
(2) Sustainable Development Education
Tsinghua University cultivates students’ environmental awareness and capacity for ac-
tion by offering various courses related to climate change and sustainable development. Be-
low are several representative courses:
① “Climate Change and Sustainable Development” Course: Offered by Tsinghua Uni-
versity’s School of Environment, this course covers the causes, impacts, and mitigation mea-
sures of climate change. Through case studies and practical activities, it enhances students’
capabilities in climate action. For example, students conduct field investigations and data
analysis to understand climate change impacts across regions and propose corresponding ad-
aptation strategies.
② “Green Building Design” Course: Offered by Tsinghua University’s School of Ar-
chitecture, this course covers design principles and technological applications of green build-
ings. Through project-based learning, it cultivates students’ green building design skills. For
instance, students design low-carbon construction projects to learn how architectural design
can reduce energy consumption andcarbon emissions。
③ “Environmental Management and Policy” Course: Offered by Tsinghua University’s
School of Public Policy and Management, this course introduces fundamental theories of
environmental management and policy analysis. Through case studies and policy simula-
tions, it strengthens students’ environmental governance capabilities. For example, students
analyze the implementation effects of environmental policies to learn how to formulate and
execute effective environmental policies.
(3) Student Volunteer Programs and Community Service
Tsinghua University encourages students to participate in community environmental ac-
tivities through student volunteer programs. For example, Tsinghua student volunteers have
organized multiple community tree-planting activities to help improve the local ecological
environment. These activities not only raise students’ environmental awareness but also am-
plify the impact of climate action through community engagement.
① Community Tree-Planting Activities: Each spring, Tsinghua student volunteers orga-
nize community tree-planting events and invite local residents to participate. Through these
activities, students and residents work together to enhance the community’s ecological envi-
ronment and strengthen neighborhood cohesion.
② Environmental Awareness Campaigns: Tsinghua student volunteers also conduct en-
vironmental education initiatives to promote eco-friendly knowledge among community res-
idents. For instance, volunteers distribute environmental protection manuals and host green
living workshops to teach residents how to reduce carbon emissions through dailybehaviors.
