Ladies and Gentlemen,

First, let me begin by introducing you some places where you can enjoy good food
and interesting entertainment.
Most restaurants and cafés are along the main road. The focus is on Lao food
and local specialties, although it’s possible to get Western food. Some bakeries sell

good cakes, which go well with a cup of Lao tea. There are also a handful of Chinese
restaurants near the Palace Museum serving noodles and fried spring rolls.
Near the river by the post office is a small market selling fresh product. In the
evening, salads, grilled chicken, fish, noodles and desserts are available.

This city isn’t well known for its nightlife. But there are still some pubs and bars
serving beer and wine.And a few hotels host discos, although their opening times can
be irregular.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am very pleased to welcome you to Italy.I would like to thank you all for
accepting our invitation to attend this international conference.
We consider it a great honor to host this conference organized by the Commission

on Education of the European Blind Union.
The Commission has been very successful and immediately put on its agenda
important matters such as the policy of integration at school, the preparation of teachers
and the role of families and associations.

This conference will discuss all this and we hope that at the end we will have
some guidelines that are applicable at least at European level.
We have invited here from all over Europe people of great experience and culture.I
will express the hope that this conference will give the right answers to many questions

that we are concerned about.
I can therefore say that I am optimistic because being optimistic can help us
