national and local medical and health care services, is the main talent training goal
               of various medical colleges.
Due to English being one of the main languages used for communication,
cooperation, and academic exchange in the international medical field, medical
specialized English (i.e. professional English) has become a major area of
innovation in the reform of foreign language teaching in medical colleges and
universities. The teaching of medical specialized English is the cultivation of
students’ abilities in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation in specific
medical fields, after solidifying general English as a professional foundation
knowledge and applying it as advanced language knowledge; Especially for
students who will engage in work related to medical science research in the future,
medical specialized English is more important. Professor Cai Jigang from Fudan
University shares the same view as many linguists, who believe that the academic
research paradigms formed during the origin and development of disciplines in
different professional fields are not entirely the same; So, although the research
results of various disciplines need to be disseminated through language as a
bridge, in addition to the similarity of the core components of language (such
as vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, etc.), the languages used by each
discipline have their own language structures, syntactic formation patterns, and
ways of speaking. For example, research papers and related articles published in
medical journals such as Nature, Science, The Lancet, and Cell, academic speeches
in various international medical papers, and the language used in communication
between doctors and patients have their own differences and characteristics.
Therefore, the specialized English teaching content required for ideal
medical colleges should be aimed at cultivating students’ comprehensive English
application ability in the medical field. The advanced English teaching content that
integrates general medical academic English and specialized medical academic
English can enable students to use appropriate language and appropriate word
choice in specific situations to achieve medical related communication and
               academic exchange.
Medical English courses not only help students master medical English
professional vocabulary and improve their level of medical English application,
but also help cultivate students’ professional beliefs, work spirit, and work
