Research on Financial Development Mechanism and Path of Forestry Carbon
Sequestration in Developing Countries under Double Carbon Targets
in the future, it will give consumers more choices. However, this is not something that
the e-commerce enterprise can promote unilaterally. Eventually, the production enter-
prise needs to disclose the data and information on the products so that the e-commerce
enterprise can display them to the consumers on the relevant pages.
According to the calculation of the data in another report released this time, “Com-
parison Report on Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Online and Offline Shopping in
China”, the carbon emissions from online shopping is less than that from offline shop-
ping of the same value. This conclusion is drawn by comparing the carbon emissions
from transportation, construction, information and packaging of consumers, platforms
and stakeholders in the whole process from merchants to consumers. At the same time,
the report also indicates that due to the insufficient disclosure of carbon information
from e-commerce platforms, logistics enterprises and physical businesses, the carbon
emission level of Smart Logistics is still unclear, and the specific carbon emissions of
online and offline shopping behaviors need to be compared according to the actual situ-
ation of specific cases, and the conclusions cannot be completely unified.
Experts on carbon footprint believe that even if the current e-commerce platform
does not disclose carbon information on the product page, consumers can still judge
the approximate level of carbon emissions from the existing information, such as pay-
ing attention to the origin/destination of the goods, the closer and the lower the carbon
content, not choosing air transportation in a hurry, and paying attention to whether the
goods are environmentally friendly and recyclable packaging, etc.
The research group of the Environmental and Economic Policy Research Center
of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment has published a report that the Internet
platform can promote the transformation from green and low-carbon awareness to be-
havior under certain conditions. Takeaway platforms and internet platforms in areas
such as bike-sharing have gained more attention and orders by providing consumers
with low-carbon choices. With the popularization of the concept of low-carbon and en-
vironmental protection, the public’s green and low-carbon behavior in various fields is
on the rise, which will promote carbon emission reduction on the supply side from the
demand side and indirectly promote enterprises to reduce carbon emissions.
