2. With the weight shifting onto the left leg, the right foot twining reversely
leaps to the left front of the left foot. As the right foot lands on the ground, with the
toes turned up and in, the left one twining reversely slide-steps half a foot left and
backward on the inside heel, the weight sinking down and more on the right. The
weight shifts onto the left leg, with the right knee rising. At the same time, with the
shoulder joints pivoting, the fists twining reversely close inward in a convex curve
and thrust down to pause in front of the abdomen, the wrists crossed, the left one
outside, the heart of the left one facing right, and the heart of the right one facing
left, the elbows protruding, leaving the armpits open. The eyes look left and for-
ward. (Figure 36-2)
3. The weight shifts slightly left, with the torso turning right. At the same
time, with the arms twining reversely to close in, the fists sink down, baihui (GV20)
being pulled up. (Figure 36-3)

4. Relax the left hip joint, and turn the torso left. At the same time, the fists
twining directly strike to both sides of the body in a convex curve, the hearts of fists
facing up, the left one slightly higher than the right, the left elbow aligning with the
left knee, and the right elbow aligning with the right knee. (Figure 36-4)

and 4 in this posture.
Posture 37 Shou Tou Shi (Beast Head)
1. Move the crotch in a shallow concave curve to shift the weight into a
right-weighted, front bow-stance. With the heel pivoting, the left foot turns in on
the ball. At the same time, the right fist twining reversely pushes right and up,
slightly higher than the right shoulder, the heart of fist facing right and up, the right
elbow aligning with the right knee; and the left one twining reversely pushes left
