and down, outside the left hip, the heart of fist facing left and down. The arms are
rounded, leaving the armpits empty. The eyes look right and forward. (Figure 37-1)

                                   Figure 36-4 Figure 37-1

                      2. With the weight shifting onto the left leg, relax the right hip, and turn the
torso right. At the same time, with the right heel off the ground, the right foot twin-
ing directly arcs left and backward on the inside ball to pause inside the left one.
The right fist twining directly withdraws inward in a concave curve to rest under
the left elbow; and the left one twining reversely pushes out in a convex curve to
end above and inside the right elbow. (Figure 37-2)
Without a pause, relax the left hip joint, and turn the torso left, facing west. At
the same time, the right foot twining reversely arcs backward and right at a 45-de-
gree angle, with the heel stamping the ground, the toes pointing forward (west); and
the left one turns in on the ball around the heel, the toes pointing forward, parallel
with the right one. The left fist twining directly punches forward in a convex curve,
the heart of fist facing in, the eye of fist facing up, the left elbow aligning with the
left knee; and the right one twining reversely withdraws in a concave curve to rest
in front of the chest, the heart of fist facing in, the eye of fist facing up. At the end
of their travel, the two fists have a forearm-length separation between them, with
the arms rounded, leaving the armpits empty. (Figure 37-3)
                      3. With the weight shifting onto the right leg, relax the left hip, and turn the
torso left. At the same time, with the left heel off the ground, the left foot twining
directly arcs right and backward on the inside ball to pause inside the right one.
The left fist twining directly withdraws inward in a concave curve to rest under the
right elbow; and the right one twining reversely pushes out in a convex curve to
end above and inside the left elbow. (Figure 37-4)
Without a pause, relax the right hip joint, and turn the torso right, facing west.
At the same time, the left foot twining reversely arcs backward and left at a 45-de-
