Posture 15 Zhan Shou (Chop Hand)
1. Relax the left hip joint, and turn the torso slightly left, with the weight
shifting slightly left. At the same time, the left fist twining reversely and the right
one directly push up and left in a convex curve, with the left one at the left shoulder
level, the heart of fist facing out, the left elbow aligning with the left knee, and the
right one in front of the chest, the heart of fist facing up to the left rear. The fists
maintain the length of a forearm between them. (Figure 15-1)

2. Relax the right hip joint, and turn the torso right, with the weight shifting
first right and then left, the left shoulder protruding. At the same time, the left fist
twining directly and the right one reversely pull right and down in a concave curve,
with the left one in front of the abdomen, the heart of fist facing up, and the right
one outside the right hip, the heart of fist facing down. (Figure 15-2)
3. Turn the torso further right, with the weight shifting further left. At the
same time, with the left fist twining directly and the right one reversely to pull fur-
ther right and down. (Figure 15-3)
4. With the heel pivoting, the left foot turns out on the ball, the toes pointing
southwest. (Figure 15-4)
Without a pause, relax the left hip joint, and turn the torso left. At the same
time, with the left shoulder pivoting, the left fist opens into a palm and twines di-
rectly to strike up and left in a convex curve (the force released from the back of
palm), facing in, the wrist flexed in. With the right shoulder pivoting, the right fist
twining first directly and then reversely, punches toward the left palm in a convex
curve (the force released from the face of fist), the heart of fist facing down. The
