and right on the inside heel. The eyes look forward (north). (Figure 13-2)
3. Relax the right hip joint, and turn the torso right, with the weight shifting
slightly left. At the same time, the palms, sticking to each other, travel right in an
inner arc in front of the chest.
Without a pause, relax the left hip joint, and turn the torso left, the weight
shifting slightly right. At the same time, the palms, sticking to each other, travel
left in an outer arc in front of the chest.
Without a pause, relax the right hip joint, and turn the torso right, the weight
shifting slightly left. At the same time, the palms, remaining in place, make fists to
travel right in an inner arc to rest in front of the chest. As the palms travel in a hori-
zontal circle, the waist also rotates in a horizontal circle in the same direction.
Without a pause, relax the left hip joint, and sink the left buttock and turn the
right one, the torso turning left. The right foot twining reversely touches the ground
solidly to form a left-weighted, side bow-stance. At the same time, with the fists
remaining crossed at wrist, the right elbow strikes left and forward horizontally, the
heart of the right fist facing down, the right wrist flexed in, and the heart of the left
one facing right and forward, the left wrist flexed out. The eyes look down to the
right front. (Figure 13-3)

4. Relax the left hip joint, and turn the torso slightly left. At the same time,
with the left chest being opened, the fists twining directly push out, the right one in
front and the left one at back, with the hearts of fists facing in and the eyes of fists
facing up. The fists end with less than 30 centimetres between them, the left elbow
aligning with the left knee. The eyes look outside the right fist. (Figure 13-4)
5. Relax the right hip joint, and turn the torso right, with the weight shifting
slightly right. At the same time, with the shoulders sinking and elbows dropping,
