11. Relax the right hip joint. Sink the right buttock and turn the left one, with
the torso turning right into a right-weighted, side bow-stance. With the heel piv-
oting, the left foot turns in on the ball. At the same time, the right fist twining re-
versely arcs up, forward and right to the upper right front of the right eye, with the
eye of fist facing down and left; and the left one elbow twining reversely rotates in,
with the face of fist against the top of the left hip. The eyes look down and left, in
the direction of the left elbow and the toes of the left foot. (Figure 13-11)

Note: Repeat Posture 17 of Routine I. In Movement 3, the palms and waist go
slowly in a horizontal circle to collect and store force, and the right elbow strikes
fast to release force. Movement 11 is actually “Bei Zhe Kao (Back Strike)” con-
tained in this posture. When the right fist arcs up, forward and right, the force goes
through the right back, the right shoulder, the right elbow, and the right fist in se-
quence.
Posture 14 Pie Shen Chui (Splitting Punch)
1. Relax the left hip joint, and turn the torso slightly left. At the same time,
the left fist twining reversely arcs down, left; and the right one twining reversely
arcs down, left and up. As the weight shifts onto the left leg, the right foot pushes
against the ground to skip-step left (west).
Without a pause, relax the right hip joint, and turn the torso slightly right. At the
same time, the left fist twining directly arcs up, right and down to rest in front of the
left chest, the heart of fist facing up, the eye of fist facing left; and the right one twin-
ing directly arcs up, left and down to end in front of the left shoulder, the heart of fist
facing out, the eye of fist facing in. The right foot stamps on the ground; and the left
one steps left, the toes turned up. The weight is on the right. The eyes look left and
