the fists twining reversely push out, the hearts of fists facing out, the eye of the left
one facing right, in and down, the eye of the right one facing left, in and down, the
arms each forming an arc. The eyes look right and forward. (Figure 13-5)

6. Relax the left hip joint. Sink the left buttock and turn the right one, with the
torso turning left, the weight sinking and shifting into a left-weighted, side bow-
stance. At the same time, the elbows twining directly strike in, the left one aligning
with the left knee. With the wrists slightly flexed out, the heart of the left fist faces
up and right and the heart of the right one facing up and left. The eyes look outside
the right elbow. (Figure 13-6)
7. Relax the left hip joint, and turn the torso further left. At the same time, the
fists twining reversely close in, the wrists flexed in, with the eyes of fists facing in,
the heart of the left one facing right and down and the heart of the right one facing
left and down, the elbows protruding, and mingmen (GV4) slightly expanded. (Fig-
ure 13-7)
8. Relax the right hip joint. Sink the right buttock and turn the left one, with
the torso turning right, the weight shifting left. At the same time, the left elbow
twining directly arcs up and right to end in front of the left chest, corresponding
with the right knee, with the heart of fist facing in; and the right fist twining directly
arcs up and right to stop outside the right knee, with the heart of fist facing up. The
eyes look right and back. (Figure 13-8)
9. Relax the left hip joint. Sink the left buttock and turn the right one, with the
torso turning left. At the same time, move the crotch in a shallow concave curve to
shift the weight into a right-weighted, side bow-stance. The right fist twining re-
versely arcs up and forward to end above the right foot, with the heart of fist facing
