IV. Postures of Chen Taijiquan Routine II (Cannon Fist)
left one facing left and back, the left elbow aligning with the left knee, and the right
one ending in front of the abdomen, the eye of the right one facing in. The eyes
look left and forward. (Figure 6-2)
3. The torso turns first left and then right. At the same time, with the right
leg turning out and the left one twining reversely to close in, the feet push against
the ground to jump up (the knees leading). As the feet land on the ground into a
right-weighted, side bow-stance, the right one slightly backward, the weight more
on the right. With the palms making into fists, around the shoulder joints, the right
one twining reversely and the left one directly arc up and right, and then the right
one twining directly and the left one reversely arc down and left. The right fist ends
in front of the abdomen, the heart of fist facing up, the eye of fist facing right, the
right elbow closing in; and the left one outside the left knee, the heart of fist facing
down, the eye of fist facing right. The eyes look right and forward. (Figure 6-3)
