4. Relax the right hip joint, and turn the torso right, with the weight shifting
slightly right. At the same time, with the stance unchanged, the feet rub-step right,
the right knee turning further out and the left one twining reversely to close further
in. The right fist twining slightly directly and the left one slightly reversely strike
right and back horizontally, with the right one ending outside the right knee, the
eye of the right one facing right and back, the right elbow aligning with the right
knee, and the left one ending in front of the abdomen, the eye of the left one facing
in. The eyes look right and forward. (Figure 6-4)
Note: As the feet jump up in Movements 1 and 3, baihui (GV20) is gently
pulled upward, and the crotch sinks simultaneously, which embodies the applica-
tion of “up-down” symmetry.
Posture 7 Yue Bu Hu Xin Chui
(Leaping Step, Heart Shielding Punch)
1. Relax the left hip joint, and turn the torso left. With the left leg twining
directly and the right one reversely, the feet skip-step into a left-weighted, front
bow-stance. At the same time, the right fist twines first directly, arcing up and in to
pause in front of the right shoulder, and then reversely, traveling in an inward arc
to end above the right thigh, the right wrist flexed in. With the left wrist leading
energy up to become flexed in, the left fist twines reversely to make the left elbow
strike horizontally right, aligning with the left knee. The eyes look left. (Figure 7-1)

2. With the stance unchanged, relax the left hip joint, and turn the torso further
left. At the same time, the left fist twining reversely and the right one directly push
up to the left front in a convex curve, the left elbow aligning with the left knee, and
