left one, the torso turning right, the weight shifting right. At the same time, the right
palm twining reversely arcs slightly up, out and right to pause above the right foot.
Following the movement of the right palm, the left hook twining reversely closes
in. (Figure 8-9)

11. Relax the left hip joint. Sink the left buttock and turn the right one, with
the torso turning left to form a left-weighted, front bow-stance, facing west. At the
same time, with its base sinking, the right palm twining directly closes in, facing
right and forward, the fingers pointing up; and the left hook twining directly moves
left. The arms end up forming an arc each with peng energy. The right elbow aligns
with the right knee, and the left elbow with the left knee. (Figure 8-10)
Note: In Movement 4, the left foot may push against the ground to jump up.
Movements 4, 5 and 6 may be performed quickly.
Posture 9 Sha Yao Ya Zhou Quan

1. Relax the left hip joint, and turn the torso left. At the same time, with the left
hook making a palm, the left palm twining reversely and the right one directly sink
their bases and arc down and left with peng energy. The eyes look left and forward.

2. Relax the right hip joint, and turn the torso right, with the weight shifting
first right and then left. At the same time, the left palm twining directly and the
right one reversely make fists and pull right in a convex curve, with the left one
in front of the mouth, the heart of fist facing in, the eye of fist facing left, the left
