palms correspond with each other. The eyes look left and forward. (Figure 11-1)
                  2. The weight shifts onto the left leg. With the left heel pivoting, the right foot
twining directly sweeps back on the ball, the torso facing north. At the same time,
the left palm twining directly ascends in a concave curve, facing up, the fingers
pointing forward, slightly above the left shoulder, the left elbow aligning with the
left knee; and the right one twining reversely presses down in an outer curve to
end outside the right hip, facing down, the fingers pointing forward, the right arm
rounded. The left foot and the right one straddle a line, with the left one in front.
The eyes look forward. (Figure 11-2)

                  1. The left palm twining reversely rotates in, facing down, with the fingers
pointing forward. At the same time, the right palm twining directly rotates in, fac-
ing up and forward, with the fingers pointing down and forward.
Without a pause, relax the left hip joint, and turn the torso slightly left. At the
same time, the right foot twining reversely arcs in, right and forward to end in an
empty stance, to the right front of the left one, the heel raised. The left palm twin-
ing slightly reversely flicks up and forward, facing down and forward; and the right
one twining further directly strikes down and forward, facing up and forward. The
weight is more on the hind (left) leg, with mingmen (GV4) slightly expanded. (Fig-
