Chapter V Strategies for Climate Change Mitigation

environmentally friendly battery products. In automotive component manufacturing, sup-
porting products from machinery manufacturing and electronic information industries are
needed, thereby creating numerous job positions. Meanwhile, the popularization of new en-
ergy vehicles can also promote the optimization of energy structures, reduce dependence on
traditional fossil fuels, lower carbon emissions in transportation, and achieve the integration
of economic, social, and environmental benefits.
In the field of urban planning, the principle of sustainable development also holds sig-
nificant guiding importance. Fully integrating low-carbon concepts into urban planning,
vigorously promoting green buildings, and developing low-carbon transportation are key
measures to achieve sustainable urban development. In terms of green buildings, the use of
energy-efficient windows and doors, high-performance insulation materials, solarphotovol-
taic panels, etc.green building technologies and products can significantly improve energy
utilization efficiency in buildings, reduce building energy consumption andcarbon emissions.
At the same time, green buildings can provide residents with a more comfortable and healthy
living environment, enhancing their quality of life. In terms of low-carbon transportation,
increase investment in public transportation infrastructure development, build efficient and
convenient public transportation networks such as subways, light rails, and rapid transit
systems, improve the service quality and coverage of public transportation, and encourage
residents to choose public transit for commuting. Additionally, actively promote new energy
vehicles, develop supporting facilities such as charging stations, lower barriers for residents
to adopt new energy vehicles, and reduce carbon emissions from private cars. Through these
measures, achieve a positive interaction between urban development and environmental
protection, drive cities toward low-carbon and livable transformation, and ensure the long-
term climate change mitigation strategy achieves sustainable development across economic,
                 social, and environmental dimensions.
                     (2) Framework Structure of the Long-term Climate Change Mitigation Strategy
                     【1】Strategic Objectives
Within the framework structure of long-term climate change mitigation strategies, stra-
tegic objectives occupy a central guiding position. The primary task of strategy implemen-
tation is to clearly establish both long-term and phased emission reduction targets. Aligned
with the global climate governance requirements and the latest achievements in climate
change scientific research, the global consensus has solidified around limiting the global
average temperature increase to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels while pursuing
efforts to limit it to 1.5°C. To achieve this ambitious goal, it is essential to formulate corre-
sponding greenhouse gas reduction proportions. For instance, each country needs to establish
specific targets to reduce emissions of major greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and
methane by a certain percentage from current levels over the coming decades, based on their
                 national circumstances.
At the same time, establishing climate change adaptation goals is equally indispensable.
