In the journey of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, patriotic
education has always been the core issue in cultivating new talents of the times.
However, the current patriotic education in vocational schools faces a dual
challenge: on the one hand, under the wave of globalization and digitization,
the cultural identity of young students is facing multiple value impacts; On the
other hand, there has long been a tendency in the field of vocational education to
prioritize skills over moral education, resulting in the dilemma of “suspension”
and “abstraction” of patriotic education in vocational schools. When abstract
theoretical preaching fails to resonate emotionally with vocational school students,
and when there is a cognitive gap between the grand national narrative and
students’ life experiences, how to make patriotic education take root in vocational
colleges has become an urgent issue that needs to be addressed.
As a spiritual bond connecting individual memory and national identity, local
culture provides a unique breakthrough path for patriotic education in vocational
schools. From the rammed earth walls of the Hakka walled houses in Lingnan, one
can see the historical code of the southward migration of Central Plains culture;
In the mimeographed version of the Communist Manifesto in Guangrao, there is
a local practice of sinicizing Marxism; The indigo dye dyed by Yuduntao Blue
contains innovative wisdom of traditional craftsmanship - these cultural carriers
infused with regional genes naturally have emotional warmth and practical texture
that are close to the cognitive habits of vocational school students. This book
is based on the core concept that “local culture is a living textbook for patriotic
education”, attempting to construct an innovative system for vocational education
that combines theoretical depth and practicality.
Of particular note is that the 28 practical cases of vocational education
included in this book are all from the frontline explorations of institutions such
