Posture 65 Shun Luan Zhou (Smooth Elbow)
1. Relax the right hip joint, and turn the torso slightly right, with the weight
shifting slightly left. At the same time, sticking to each other, the left palm and the
right fist twining slightly reversely move further right.
Without a pause, the weight shifts onto the left leg. Relax the left hip joint,
and turn the body slightly left, the right knee twining reversely to rise. At the same
time, with the shoulder joints pivoting, the left palm and the right fist, sticking to
each other, twine reversely to arc up and left, pausing at level with the left ear. The
eyes look right and forward. (Figure 65-1)
2. Relax the left hip joint, and turn the torso slightly left. At the same time,
the right foot twining reversely slide-steps half a foot right and backward on the
inside heel.
Without a pause, relax the right hip joint, and turn the torso slightly right.
With the right foot touching the ground solidly, the weight shifts right into a
right-weighted, side bow-stance, and the left foot steps right. At the same time,
with the left palm making a half-clenched fist, the left and right elbows twining
reversely strike left and backward, and right and backward respectively, the wrists
flexed in, the hearts of fists facing down and inward, the right elbow aligning with
the right knee. The eyes look right. (Figures 65-2a and 65-2b)
Note: In Movement 2, as the left and right elbows strike left and backward, and
