IV. Postures of Chen Taijiquan Routine II (Cannon Fist)



                      3. With the heel pivoting, the right foot turns in on the ball, the weight shift-
                 ing onto the right leg. With the heel off the ground, the left foot twining directly
                 sweeps out and backward on the ball, the torso facing east. With the heel pivoting,
                 the right foot turns further in on the ball, so that the right foot and the left one strad-
                 dle a straight line, with the right one in front, a right-weighted, front bow-stance
                 formed. At the same time, remaining in their places, the fists follow the body to the
                 left, the right elbow above the right knee. The eyes look forward (east). (Figure 61-
                 3)
                      Note: Repeat Posture 59 just in the opposite direction.

                 Posture 62   Hui Tou Dang Men Pao (Head-on Cannon Punch)

                      With the knees leading energy, the feet jump up by means of the rebounding
                 force from the ground, the crotch sinking down. The fists twining directly with-
                 draw to pause in front of the abdomen in a concave curve. As the feet land on the
                 ground, the fists twining reversely push forward in a convex curve, the hearts of
                 fists facing in, the eyes of fists facing up, the left elbow aligning with the left knee,
                 the right one in front of the chest. The left-weighted, front bow-stance remains. The
                 eyes look forward (east).(Figure 62)

                 Posture 63 Pie Shen Chui (Splitting Punch)

                      1. With the knees leading energy, the feet jump up at the same time, the body
                 turning left. As the feet lands on the ground, the weight is more on the right, the
