IV. Postures of Chen Taijiquan Routine II (Cannon Fist)



                 curve, with the left one at the left shoulder level, the heart of fist facing out, the left
                 elbow aligning with the left knee, and the right one in front of the chest, the heart
                 of fist facing up, left and back. The fists maintain the length of a forearm between
                 them. (Figure 64-1)
                      2. Relax the right hip joint, and turn the torso right, with the weight shifting
                 first right and then left, the left shoulder protruding. At the same time, the left fist
                 twining directly and the right one reversely pull right and down in a concave curve,
                 with the left one in front of the abdomen, the heart of fist facing up, and the right
                 one outside the right hip, the heart of fist facing down. The eyes of fists face up and
                 right. The eyes look left and forward. (Figure 64-2)

                      3. The weight shifts right. With the left hip joint relaxed, the left foot turns out
                 around the heel, the toes pointing southeast, the body turning left, the weight shift-
                 ing left. With the heel off the ground, the right foot turns in. At the same time, the
                 left fist opens into a palm and twines reversely to arc slightly up, out and left to the
                 left front of the left shoulder, facing out, with the fingers pointing right and up. The
                 right fist twining reversely rotates in to end with the face of fist against the right rib,
                 the right elbow closing in. The torso faces south. The eyes look right and forward.

                      4. With the weight shifting onto the left leg, the right knee twining reversely
                 rises. At the same time, remaining its place, the left palm twining directly rotates
                 in, facing up, the fingers pointing left and forward, the left elbow dropping. The
                 right fist twining directly rotates out, the ring of fist against the right rib, the heart
                 of fist facing up. (Figures 64-4a and 64-4b)
                      5. Stamp the right foot sharply and flatly inside the left one. With the heel as
