Research on Treating Cancer by Raising Human Body Temperature
疗疾病的目的。
The needle is inserted to open the qi channel of the body, and the medicine is placed at
the acupuncture point, with the moxibustion gas used as the medicine. The warm stimulation
of the guiding medicine makes the skin temperature rise and the skin capillaries expand.
Through the guidance of heat and the needle, the medicine enters the qi channel, promoting
and strengthening the circulation of blood and lymph fluid, boosting the metabolism of
the body, and improving the nutrition of the surrounding tissues. The warm stimulation
of the guiding medicine also makes the pores open and the whole body sweat, so that the
“pathogenic toxin” in the body can be discharged from the body with sweat, to support
vital qi and consolidate the origin, and expel pathogenic toxin from the body, dredge
meridians and regulate qi and blood, bring yin and yang into relative balance, and harmonize
the functions of zang-fu organ, thus achieving the purpose of treating diseases.

The Five Elements correspond to the five internal organs, namely, wood (liver), fire
(heart), earth (spleen), metal (lung) and water (kidney), and there exists the continuous
and endless mutual promotion and restraint relationship between them. Eight Trigrams,
the continuation of yin and yang and the Five Elements, or the method dividing everything
into eight trigrams, are the eight basic figures used in the Book of Changes (“Zhouyi”),
an important classic of ancient Confucianism on the changes of everything. Their names
are Qian, Kan, Gen, Zhen, Xun, Li, Kun and Dui. Yin and yang refer to the yin and yang
of the heaven, earth and the four seasons, and also the yin and yang of the human body.
In regulating treatment, the trigram positions are determined with the eight trigrams
based on the mutual promotion and restraint relationship between the internal organs, and
the syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine is conducted, and then the
acupuncture array is arranged for the respective acupoints and the sequence of insertion
