才更有约束力，也暗指着某种惩罚和后果。

（二）为了增强准确性
例如：My younger sister has never missed a single gym class this year.
译为：今年我妹妹的体育课一直都是全勤。
中文的一直和全勤进一步解释了 never 的含义，更加说明了她未缺课这一

事实。
（三）为了加强语气
例如：The key elements that we are discussing about must be kept in mind in our
next marketing.

在我们接下来的市场营销中，不能忘记我们讨论的这些关键因素。
汉语中“不能”这一词带有警告色彩，语气更加的强硬，更加符合上级对下
级的命令以及要求。

三、正话反说

英语中有些否定概念是通过含有否定意义或近似否定意义的词来表达的，虽
然形式是肯定的，但这类词大多是某些肯定词所引申或变化出来的反义词，或经

过长期历史演变而引申出其他否定词义，即所谓的“含蓄否定词”或“暗指否定
词”，这类词在译成汉语时，需要变成汉语的否定词组，必要时还需要作词类转换。
遇到这类词时应特别留意，顺译不行，就另辟蹊径，进行反译。现在将这类
词汇归纳如下：

名词：itch,absence,want,ignorance,exclusion,reluctance,refusal,shortage,……
动词：miss,fail,avoid,lose,remain,keep from,exclude,refrain,refuse,deny,forbid……
副词：forever,still,hardly,seldom,too…to…,safely,extremely,predictably……

介词：beyond,behind,beside,above,without,instead of,in addition to,at a loss……
连词：before,until,till,unless,rather than,other than,let alone,whenever……
形容词：last,final,few,little,short of,free from,devoid of,foreign to,ignorant of……
